Latest Art Work

We had a really interesting art lesson recently. Firstly we took a head shot photo of each other, and printed them off in black & white on A3 paper. We cut the photo vertically in half. For our art symmetry design we then had to recreate our oposite head shots. The results were brilliant although we did have a good giggle at some of our faces. Great lesson to do and great fun.

1916 Project Work

All of us in 3rd & 4th class are delighted that our 1916 project work was so succesful and was a great display for all to enjoy duing our 1916 celebration day recently. A great deal of hard work by the whole class was needed to research and inform our school peers of the events during that historic time. We made paper mache heads to represent all the signatories which was time consuming but worth the effort as they looked fantastic and added a new dimention to just looking at pictures. The project was great fun to do and we are proud to show off our hard work.

Paper Mache Letters

We recently completed making our name letters for our art class. They took several sessions to complete as we made them out of paper mache. It was a new way for us try something different in art class. We were pleased with the results once they were all painted and ready to display..

GAA Training

Today was the the first session of Mr Finnegans GAA training. Boys from 2nd through to 5th class all participated in a great training session which included warm up, fitness, drills, ball controll and coordination and finnaly warm down. It was a great opportunity to learn and enjoy all aspects of GAA.  Girls will be next up to participate next week. A great incentive by Mr Finnegan and students alike that will only improve on the quality of our play, skills and team spirit. We look forward to the coming weeks ahead for all to enjoy in this new school sports initative.
