2020 January to February holidays

It's been a great start to 2020 in Ballinlough School. The six weeks leading up to February break have flown by. On January 13th renowned author Oisín McGann visited all classes and gave a writing workshop. He had everyone engrossed, listening intently to his stories and how he became a writer and illustrator.

Sixth class pupils are busy preparing for their Confirmation which takes place Friday 28th February. First to Fifth classes are fine-tuning their voices to provide a choir for this special day.

As part of our SSE (Self Evaluation programme) teachers are piloting a programme to improve all pupils spellings, using pattern recognition and words within word strategies. We are looking for positive feedback later this year.

To promote pupils' achievements a 'Wonderful Work' board has been created and every class has space for teachers to display work they feel deserves extra recognition. This could range from beautiful writing, interesting content and great effort made.
